Re: Ravel Morrison in Italy
What absolves him from abuse?

Same thing as most players, I'd imagine. Just last week there was a thread about paolo di canio. A man who went awol for an extended period during a relegation battle, fell out with manager, board and all his team mates, who believed he was leaking stories to newspapers from within the club, and then fucked off to Charlton athletic as soon as he could. The overwhelming verdict on that thread was that he's a legend of the club, yet his actions were far more damaging to the club than anything morrison ever did.

He's 'absolved' because of the pleasure he gave people when he was here.
The pleasure RAV gave people was fleeting, but those that experienced it remember it. And contrary to the fat cunts opinion, the supporters of this club know a good footballer when they see one.

No one ask you to apologise and as I said I feel the same way about him getting his nead on straight, remember. Saying that you are happy that your version of these events sticks in people's craw is in a slightly different spirit don't you think.

I am glad you still check his twitter, I don't. I was referring to when he was with the club. (Though be careful judging what is on there now he does have considerable history of deleting posts after the fact.)

His considerable social media presence??

His last TWEET was January 27th.

See, here's the kids biggest problem - people just make shit up, publish it as fact and all the people who've already decided they don't like him lap it up.

Still, you're right, Nobes is a top man. But I won't be apologising for hoping an extremely talented young man gets shit together at some point in his life

There's also an element of him being a talisman for purist football talent at a time when we had the footballing anti Christ running the show.

Re: Ravel Morrison in Italy
I still don't get it. What absolves him from the dog's abuse that , say, John Hartson got, having made a far greater contribution to the club?

And being a waste of talent makes it worse, not better.

Re: Ravel Morrison in Italy
Well he played for us for a time so there's that. And I think people hate to see that kind of innate talent go to waste.

Yeah, I get all that. But for most fans, it doesn't usually apply to footballers from other teams. What's so special about Morrison?

I have no desire to hang out with Ravel Morrison and I think I might not like him if I had spend a lot of time with him, judging from his considerable social media presence.

That being said if I could give him a chance to catch the eye of someone in England and reignite a faltered career here (and it really cost me or my team nothing) I probably would because I try to be a decent human being. I am happy to see someone succeed who I had a minor beef or two with in the past. How does it hurt me?

Maybe that what Mark Noble is doing and the invitation says more about him than it does Morrison. Just speculation but so is what you are saying.

Perhaps there are some people that acknowledge that they have also made mistakes in their youth and recognise that people have the capacity to correct those mistakes as they get older. Hoping that people make the best of themselves doesnt mean you have to be blind to their failings and contrary to popular Internet wisdom doesn't confer weakness on people who are willing to live and let live.

RM is not a professional footballer. He's an unprofessional footballer who gets paid a fortune for taking the piss.

I don't know why this thread is continuing to attract comments. It should be locked.

A year ago I'd have taken him back. Not with the squad we have now. We dont need the constamt speculation of who he's had a row with and the harmony of our squad is perfectly balanced. Plus i have a feeling a couple of 1st teamers would let Slav know not to bother bringing him back.

53 (83?) minutes all season and now not in the first team squad.

What is there to hate about Ravel Morrison?

He is from Manchester.

He's a wannabe gangster.

He is a professional footballer who doesn't play for West Ham (and hasn't had a distinguished career at the club to mitigate this fact).

According to all his managers except one, he has a bad attitude.

He is a waste of talent.

He is from Manchester.

He robbed a living out of this club.

He is from Manchester.

The above should be enough to make everybody despise him. However, many still wish him well. I really don't understand why. What is there to like about him?

Re: Ravel Morrison in Italy
Dancer - not carefully chosen words at all. And nothing to be wrong about. I like the kid as a player, and I also have some sympathy for him. I know a fair bit about him, his upbringing and various other bits so I'm not in the least bit surprised that he is the way he is. I'm also not in the least bit surprised at the intolerance of people regarding his behaviour because on the face of it it's not great.

What is completely and utterly wrong is the theme throughout this thread by people who have little or no connection to the club that have suggested that he wasn't liked by all his team mates. Mark Noble has played with countless people over the years. They haven't all been invited. RAV has. Sorry that sticks in the throat of many. Actually that's a lie, I'm not.

Re: Ravel Morrison in Italy
I feel a sense of frustration about him. Such obvious talent and yet the combination of him, his handlers and the coaches of his various clubs have failed so far to give him the first class career his talent deserves.

What is there to hate is the more important question I think, thickos?
